2018 is flying by and with Spring and some sunshine hopefully on its way soon, we thought we would look back on the amazing events that we have already had this year…
There were no January blues here at Out There Events, as we were privileged to join Unipart Rail in organising their employee conference with over 700 guests in attendance from all over the UK.
Set against the iconic backdrop of the Concorde Conference Centre, it was a brilliant day of employee engagement and team-building, with delegates shaking their boom whackers to kick off the afternoon session with a bang! A great example of how you can combine informative content and team-building to make your conference more effective.
Hacienda Themed Private Party
Right at the other end of the event spectrum, next in January we were tasked with organising a surprise 40th birthday party – Hacienda style! Our top-secret mission involved booking the biggest DJ’s of the Hacienda era, transforming the Albert Hall into an 80’s rave and getting 300 of our client’s closest friends and family there… all with him none the wiser.
The party was an enormous success, with the client completely amazed by the hacienda throwback that had been created. The line-up included Dave Haslam, Graeme Park, Mike Pickering, 808 State and a special appearance from Mr Wilson’s Second Liners! With hacienda branding embedded in every element including the three-tier cake and bespoke wristbands. We topped off the evening celebrating at midnight by setting off two giant confetti cannons covering the entire venue in yellow and black confetti – mission accomplished!
After a successful pitch to win a contract of events for the retailTRUST last year, we were in London working on their annual retailTRUST Celebration at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. With over 700 of the biggest names in the retail industry in attendance, this high-profile event raised an incredible £410,000 to create brighter futures in the retail industry.
We created a bespoke LED set featuring custom branded visuals to compliment the stunning backdrop of the Park Plaza. In addition to a night of fundraising hosted by TV personality Gyles Brandreth, there was a fantastic line up of entertainment including the fabulous jazz duo, Verity and Violet and our headline act, Paloma Faith’s band – The Faithettes.
Key 103’s Darren Proctor joined us earlier this month to host the star-studded annual Childline Ball, which was held at the Midland Hotel, raising an amazing £194,000 for Childline on a brilliant night of fundraising.
This year, the theming channelled the Glamour of Manchester; set against a gorgeous black and gold Manchester sky line backdrop we had bespoke table centrepieces including creations from Bee Mancunian and welcomed special guest speakers such as Sir Howard Bernstein.
We were thrilled to have some quintessentially Mancunian entertainment on the evening – with Peter Hook joining us to DJ during the drinks reception, before the Manchester Camerata took to the stage alongside Rowetta for their brilliant performance. To close the evening, Clint Boon then joined us for his DJ set, ensuring that everyone was up on the dance floor for the rest of the night.
