The start of December means one thing… Christmas! It also means 2016 is coming to an end and what a busy year it has been! Over the past twelve months we have organised some fantastic events for our amazing clients. To mark the end of what has been a great year we wanted to give you a snippet of what has happened in our world over the past twelve months.
To kick off the year with a bang we had a number of new clients wins. After designing and pitching our creative ideas we were successful in winning new business from clients including The Creative Lancashire Awards, Nexen Tyres, Hand on Heart and Carfinance24/7.
We love working on charity events and this year we were lucky enough to help organise a number of other charity events all in which raised funds which will change people’s lives. In February we organised the Inspire Ball for 250 guests at the stunning Gorton Monastery to raise funds for the Inspire charity. We also worked on The Morgan Foundation Gala Dinner, The UK Heart Safe Awards, East Cheshire Hospice Winter Wonderland Ball and The ChildLine Ball. Altogether these charities raised a total of over £524,000, that’s a LOT of money for some fantastic causes!
In March was the annual ChildLine Ball, each year we have the pleasure of working on the theming for this event, which this year was Disco. In previous years it has been oriental and 1920’s, we love getting creative with themes and can’t wait for next year’s theme which is ‘Cool Britannia’. Other themed events that we worked on this year include the Bolton Cinema Launch which had a very fitting Hollywood Film theme, featuring giant movie props and entertainment and also a Winter Wonderland Christmas Party.
April marked the arrival of four new team members joining the gang this year; Project Executive Ceri, Events and Publishing Executive Rebecca, Designer Georgie and our new finance director Rob – who by the way in his spare time travels the world performing with his band, no biggie.
In May we organised the annual 3 day national Senior Women in Policing conference after we tendered to supply the AV and event management. The high profile conference which took place at the Hilton Deansgate had over 300 delegates in attendance and explored the theme of Profile and Perception in policing, it was a large logistical operation for us which was attended by delegates nationwide. We also organised a fantastic launch party for Hansgrohe in Clerkenwell at their stunning new showroom – The Water Studio.
Down south at Mixology in London we had record numbers of 1100 guests in June at Old Billingsgate with Basement Jaxx performing, it was no surprise it was one of the biggest and best yet.
In July there was some big news – after more than six years at the company, owner Marcie promoted Catherine from Project Director to Managing Director!
Alongside a new MD we also got a swanky new website, after some much needed TLC our website is back and better than ever but if you’re reading this you’ll probably already know that!
With several new team members, in September we decided to take part in some team building activities. We braced the slopes at Chill Factore on sledges at a snow day and went back to school for a cocktail chemistry class at Cloud 23. Attending these events gives us some great ideas that we can pass onto our clients!
In October, we attended the spooky Foundry Film Studios Launch to check out their brand new venue. This is one of the perks of working in events; you get invited to some of the best launch parties and it means we are constantly up to date with the latest event space for our clients. Other launches that we attended this year include The Principal Hotel Launch, Malmasion Work and Play Launch and only recently the Victoria Warehouse Launch of their new space – The Archives and The Cellars.
We spend most of our time organising awards dinners, but in November it was our turn to be a finalist this year as we were proud to be nominated for Best Event Management Company at the Talk of Manchester Awards! It was great to be recognised for all our hard work so thank you to everyone who voted. We ended the month organising the new Showroom launch for Camira in Clerkenwell. The highlight of the evening was definitely the Yorkshire pie van!
After four years at the Hilton Deansgate, the northern awards for our sister company Mix Interiors, had outgrown the venue, so we thought where else to move the awards than the iconic building that is Manchester Central. This ends the awards season for us with a bang! We have organised some amazing awards dinners this year including the UK Energy Innovation Awards, Chemical Northwest Awards, Stockport Business Awards & The MPA Inspiration Awards to name a few.
Finally, we would like to say a huge thank you to all our lovely clients for keeping us so busy throughout the year and we look forward to working with you all in 2017.
Happy Christmas from Out There Events!
